Labrador is part of the Canadian Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, located on Canada's Atlantic coast. The Strait of Belle Isle separates the two parts of the Province. We are located on the Southern coastal region of Labrador stretching from L'Anse Au Clair to Cartwright on Route 510.

Air Travel to the Labrador Straits

The airport for the Labrador Straits communities is located in the nearby community of Blanc Sablon, Quebec. Commercial air carriers Air Labrador and Provincial Airlines provide daily flights to Blanc Sablon from St. John's (Newfoundland), St. Anthony (Newfoundland), Goose Bay (Labrador) and Montreal (Quebec). Blanc Sablon is just a few minutes drive from the Labrador border.

Road and Ferry Travel
Southern Labrador is accessible by road in the south via the Strait of Belle Isle ferry from St. Barbe, Newfoundland to Blanc Sablon, Quebec from April to January and via Corner Brook, NL to Blanc Sablon during the winter months. In addition the Relais Nordik Ferry Service from Rimouski, QC to Blanc Sablon, QC operates most months of the year. In the the north road travel is possible via Route 510 from Goose Bay to Cartwright, Labrador. Route 510 and its branch roads link the region and meet up with Route 500 in Central Labrador and Route 138 in Quebec. A passenger/freight service operates between the communities of Williams Harbour, Charlottetown, Port Hope Simpson and Norman Bay.
